CATEGORY

Only 1 category will be considered, including all pictures related to bat research and conservation, to their habitats, pictures showing bat workers or researchers, conservation issues, etc. All images must have been taken under the appropriate permits in each country.

PARTICIPANTS

The contest is open to all EBRS participants except for the main organizing committee. The jury reserves the right to declare the category void.

JURY

The jury will consist of two professional photographers (Nicolas Reusens and Joan de la Malla) and a bat researcher from the Natural Sciences Museum of Granollers (Laura Torrent). The organization of the EBRS will act as secretary (without voting rights).

SUBMISSION

Each participant may submit a maximum of 5 photographs. The photographs must be original and exclusively created by the author and should not have been published in print media or previously awarded.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Images should be submitted in JPEG/JPG format with a minimum size of 3,000 pixels on the longest side.

The filenames of the submitted photographs must begin with "EBRS", followed by the author’s full name and a sequence number (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).

Photographs must be submitted via email to: info@ebrs2024.com.

The subject line should include: 1st EBRS Photo Contest

1. For each photograph: filename, title, location, and date taken.
2. Personal details:
   • Full Name
   • E-mail

DEADLINE: August 30!

VERDICT

The winners will be announced during the conference. The selected photographs will be displayed at the final ceremony and will also be published on the official EBRS website.

SELECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS

From the submitted entries, the jury will select 20 finalists. The EBRS organizers will notify the authors of the finalist photographs. The jury will award prizes based on the finalist photographs.

NOTES

• Entries not meeting the criteria outlined in the "Submission Process" section or submitted after the deadline WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
• Awarded and selected photographs will be used on social media through the official EBRS channels, but they will not become the property of the EBRS organization and will not be published elsewhere.
• By participating, contestants acknowledge ownership of copyright and image rights for their photographs.
• The EBRS organizers disclaim any responsibility for publication disputes.
• By entering the contest, participants agree to waive copyright claims for reproduction of their work in digital/social media during the conference and afterwards.
• Participation in the contest implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
• The EBRS will resolve any unforeseen issues not covered by these rules.
