Tarragona

Tarragona is a northeastern town of the Iberian peninsula, which sits on the Mediterranean coast in the Catalonia region, about 100 kilometers south from Barcelona. It is a well-known tourist destination, and it is also surrounded by the largest chemicals industrial site of southern Europe.

The weather is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers, and rainfall mostly in spring and fall. The month of July is a great month to enjoy the city and its beaches. Its Roman monumental setting was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in year 2000. It is also the site to unique medieval monuments –such as the Cathedral and cloister–, art nouveau architecture, museums, a picturesque fishing and marina neighborhood.
